“A thimbleful of red is redder than a bucketful” (Matisse)

The colour palette is mostly limited in these prints, creating a light, minimal feel and placing the emphasis on crisply defined shape. Some of the compositions rely on the chance scatterings of paper and other materials, whilst others are developed from automatic drawings. In other instances the prints originate in photographs tracking the movement of sunlight and shadow on paper.

A consideration of the fugitive, the fleeting and the ephemeral are at the core of this work.
