“Art is a lie that makes us realise truth” (Picasso)

These illusory halftone images grow out of the arrangement of dots on paper. Photographic images are transformed from document to fiction to present my response to forms in the landscape which have been shaped by time and the elements into seemingly impossible, sculptural structures. Top heavy columns of rock, solid yet on the brink of collapse, and figure-like wooden groynes emerging from the sea bear witness to forces far greater than anything visible to us as we stand before them. Each print includes an orange dot which is entirely fictitious, having never featured in the original photographic images, satiating my need for some colour and referencing the process by which these images are made.
